Martinhal resort in Sagres, South of Portugal is a heaven for kids and parents. Perched on a cliff above golden sands, it’s surrounded by the Costa Vicentina Nature Reserve. Martinhal is located near the historic town of Sagres and Europe’s most south-westerly point: Cape St Vincent, also called “Fim do mundo” (the end of the world).
Super kids-friendly, Martinhal offers plenty of activities: heated pools, water sports (paddleboarding or windsurfing), bikes, tennis, sauna, outdoor activities, a playroom, videogames, pool, mother-daughter treatments at the spa, dolphin spotting and horse-riding. Big plus, the kids clubs go from crèche (6 months) to teenage adventure clubs. Seems like the perfect holiday for everyone in the family.
The resort has 37 rooms in the hotel plus 55 ocean houses, 28 bay houses, 39 garden houses and 10 pinewoods houses which include terraces and/or private pools. Interiors are warm and nicely decorated with natural materials to make you feel at home.
There are a few food options available at the resort. Family dining in O Terraço, which has lovely views out to sea and a great wine list. As Dunas, near the sand dunes, delivers fresh fish and regional specialities. An Italian trattoria serving pasta and pizzas. Or the Family Surf Bar – the cool option for take away with a coffee shop by day and surf bar by night.
Great value for money option for a luxury family holiday, stress-free and almost kids-free.
