The Zum Riesen refuge is a unique mixture of an old, historic house dating back to the 14th century, and stylish, modern elements. This refuge was passed from woman to woman since centuries.
For the restoration of the house, the innkeeper Alexandra dell’Agnolo got the support of her sister Silvia, who is an architect. A lot of love and attention to detail was put in the renovation making this house a bright, spacious, quiet retreat where guests can relax and have a good time.
There are nine rooms with nine different stories, elegantly and simply renovated. Some of them provide a balcony with stunning views. A lot of the furniture are originals from decades, often centuries ago. The living and dining room are covered with wood, bringing a very warm atmosphere. Breakfast includes regional products, much of it from their own production. Without forgetting the sauna and fireplace, great add-ons for a cozy winter.
Zum Riesen is located in the middle of the Vinschgau, a landscape with character and charm. The surrounding area of Tarres has a lot of activities for every season. Cycling on the Via Claudia Augusta, an ancient route, mountain excursions, skiing and cultural activities like concerts and open-air shows.
From 160 € per night for 2 people, including breakfast.
